African Teen Writers Awards

We are excited to announce that the African Teen Writers Awards, organised by Writers Space Africa (WSA) is back for its 3rd edition. At WSA, we aim to inspire and empower young writers by encouraging them to share their stories and break the negative stereotypes associated with the African continent.

This award is open to early teens aged between 13 to 16 years, and we welcome submissions in two categories: poetry and prose. Submissions will be accepted from March 15 to July 1, 2024, with one entry per category allowed.

The winners of each category will receive a certificate of achievement and a cash prize of $100 sponsored by Nahida Esmail. The theme of this award is A Right to Peace.

Please note that shortlisted candidates will be required to provide proof of age and identification upon contact.

We look forward to receiving your submissions and wish all the participants good luck!
