The Fulbright U.S. Student Programme is a competition that provides grants for individually designed study/research projects or for English Teaching Assistant Programmes. This call is for the 2019-2020 edition of the competition. Applicants will need to submit a Statement of Grant Purpose defining activities to take place during one academic year in a participating country outside the United States.

During your grant, you will meet, work, live with and learn from the people of the host country, sharing daily experiences. The programme facilitates cultural exchange through direct interaction on an individual basis in the classroom, field, home, and in routine tasks.
Through engagement in the community, you will interact with your hosts on a one-to-one basis in an atmosphere of openness, academic integrity, and intellectual freedom, thereby promoting mutual understanding.

National Screening Committee Meetings
During November and December, The Institute of International Education (IIE) convenes academic, arts, and English Teaching Assistantships committees to review applications by world region. These committees determine whether or not an application is recommended for final consideration in the host country.

Initial Notification
All candidates are notified via email as to whether or not their applications have been recommended for final consideration.
Mar 01 2019 - May 31 2019
Final Selection Notification
Recommended semi-finalist candidates are notified as to whether they have been selected for an award, designated as alternates, or non-selected. Notification begins early March and continues throughout the spring. Notification dates will vary by country.
