9mobile Prize For Literature 2017

The 9mobile Prize For Literature (previously the Etisalat Prize For Literature) is a platform for promoting, nurturing talent and communicating ideas through celebrating African writers and other members of the literary community.

APPLICATION WINDOW

CLOSED

DEADLINE

18 Sep 2017

PRIZES

The winner will be awarded the following:
- £15,000
- A high end device
- A book tour to three African cities
- The 9mobile Fellowship at the University of East Anglia mentored by Professor Giles Foden (author of The Last King of Scotland) which will include significant opportunities to meet other writers, publishers and most importantly work on your second book.

1000 copies of all shortlisted books will be purchased by 9mobile. These books will be donated to various schools, book clubs and libraries across the African continent.

Note that while some organisers may accept applications from all around the world, you may still be required to travel to the host country in order to take part in the later stages of a competition for instance, or you may be required to live there for a period of time to take part in a funded programme (e.g. scholarship, incubator, accelerator).

Multiple host countries may mean that no travel is required.
