AHRC North West Consortium Doctoral Awards (September 2021 entry)


The North West Consortium Doctoral Training Partnership (NWCDTP), funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) provides funding opportunities for students to undertake doctoral research and training. This opportunity is also open to international students.

PRIZES

+2 Scheme (Two years Doctoral Study – For current first year students only)
This scheme will provide support for up to two years of full time study, or four years of part-time study for students who are currently registered on the first year of a programme leading to the award of a doctoral degree.

+3 Scheme (Three years Doctoral Study)
This scheme will provide support for up to three years of full-time study, or six years of part-time study, on a programme leading to the award of a doctoral degree.

A full postgraduate award for full-time study provides funds to meet:
The payment of approved fees to the institution
A maintenance grant of £15,283 for 2021-2022

Students opting to study part time will receive a pro rata maintenance grant of the equivalent of a full time award.

Students will receive additional disability allowance where appropriate.


OTHER KEY DATES

15 January 2021: Candidates must have applied for a place on a programme at one of the seven NWCDTP institutions by this date (Note some institutions may have earlier deadlines). The seven NWCDTP institutions are the universities of Liverpool, Lancaster, Salford, Keele, Manchester, ManMet and the Royal Northern College of Music
Around 16th April 2021: Successful and reserve candidates to be notified of the outcome
30th April 2021:Deadline for successful candidates to confirm acceptance of the award.
September 2021: Students will start their PhD


HOST COUNTRY

United Kingdom


Note that while some organisers may accept applications from all around the world, you may still be required to travel to the host country in order to take part in the later stages of a competition for instance, or you may be required to live there for a period of time to take part in a funded programme (e.g. scholarship, incubator, accelerator).
