Educational Innovation Abie Award


The Educational Innovation Abie Award recognizes educators for developing innovative teaching practices and approaches that attract female students to computing, engineering, and math in K-12 or undergraduate education. This award honours the life and career of A. Richard Newton (1951-2007) who was a professor and dean of the College of Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, a pioneer in electronic design automation and integrated circuit design, and a visionary leader in the technology industry.

PRIZES

Recipients will:
Be honoured by the technical women’s community at the Grace Hopper Celebration and invited to give a presentation on the main stage at GHC..
Receive a cash prize.
Have multiple speaking opportunities throughout GHC on their work and accomplishments.
Be awarded an all-expense paid trip to GHC.


HOST COUNTRY

United States


Note that while some organisers may accept applications from all around the world, you may still be required to travel to the host country in order to take part in the later stages of a competition for instance, or you may be required to live there for a period of time to take part in a funded programme (e.g. scholarship, incubator, accelerator).
