(Updated 1 Feb 2025) This call for applications is for the 2025 edition o fFeminism and Folklore, an international writing contest organised at Wikipedia annually in the month of February and March to document folk cultures and women in folklore in different regions of the world on Wikipedia.

1st prize: 300 USD
2nd prize: 200 USD
3rd prize: 100 USD
Top 10 consolation prizes: 10 USD each
There will also be local prizes for each of the 40 Wikipedia editions which have signed up for the 2025 edition


Note: All prizes will be distributed in a form that aligns with the local currency, ensuring accessibility and ease for the recipients. The gift cards or vouchers will be from major brands, providing flexibility and a range of choices for the winners. No cash or transfers will be provided.

Note that while some organisers may accept applications from all around the world, you may still be required to travel to the host country in order to take part in the later stages of a competition for instance, or you may be required to live there for a period of time to take part in a funded programme (e.g. scholarship, incubator, accelerator).
