Innovate BC Ignite Programme 2019

From helping get clean drinking water into third world countries to diagnosing eye diseases faster than ever before, Ignite is bringing technology to life in British Columbua (BC), Canada.

PRIZES

The Innovate BC Ignite Programme provides up to $300,000 to fund innovation projects in the areas of natural resources, applied science and/or engineering

Note that projects must secure matching funds from industry or government sources at a ratio of 2:1 matching dollars to Ignite dollars. Projects must secure $600,000 in matching funds to request the maximum allowable amount from Ignite.

For example:

$150,000 Industry cash contribution
$150,000 Industry in-kind contribution
$300,000 Government cash contribution

This scenario qualifies for a $300,000 request from Ignite.

The total amount of funding available is approximately $2.1 million per year. There are two funding rounds per year and the review panel typically recommends 3 to 4 projects per round for funding.

Deadline for invited applicants to submit full proposal: October 21, 2019
Anticipated notice of decision: Late December 2019
Anticipated start of funding: January 2020.

Projects must plan to move a proposed innovation to market within a 3-year timeframe.
