1st prize: 30.000 Euro
2nd prize: 20.000 Euro

Prize for best performance of Ørjan Matre's commissioned piece performed in the 2nd Round may be given after the 2nd Round: 1.500 Euro
Prize for best performance of a complete opus originally written for solo piano by Edvard Grieg performed in the 2nd Round or in the Semi-final may be given after the Semi-final: 3.000 Euro
Audience prize after the Final: 1.000 Euro
Orchestra's prize after the Final: 1.000 Euro
Semi-finalist prize: 1.500 Euro

An engagement for a number of public concerts at Troldhaugen during the summer of 2023 as "Pianist of the Week"
A solo recital at Strovolos Municipal Theatre in Nicosia, Cyprus, 14 October 2022, arranged by the Avantgarde Cultural Foundation in cooperation with the Steinway Prizewinner Concerts Network
An invitation to perform a piano concerto with the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra in the Kilden Concert Hall, season 2023/2024
A solo recital at Ringve Music Museum in Trondheim arranged by Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, season 2023/2024
An engagement as a festival artist at the Lofoten Piano Festival 2024
Other engagements for Participants
Competitors who do not advance to Round 2, and competitors who advance to Round 2, but do not advance to the Semi-final, will be given the opportunity to play on a concert in the Vestland County or in the city of Bergen, receiving a fee of 500 euro.
All competitors will be provided with free private accommodation during the week of the Competition.
Note that an application fee of 100 Euro is required
1 June 2022: Notification deadline
1 August 2022: Deadline for a competitor to alter his/her program for any round of the Competition by informing the Competition Secretariat of the change
26 August 2022: Deadline for competitors to register with the Competition Secretariat
26 August to 3 September 2022: The 17th International Edvard Grieg Piano Competition will be held in Bergen, Norway
