The Tertiary Institutions Energy Pitch Challenge (TIEC) is a competition organised by the Nigeria Energy Forum (NEF). This competition aims to promote student-led clean energy innovations, awareness, and investments across higher education institutions in Nigeria. The contest will gather energy innovations across student chapters of professional engineering institutions and other relevant faculty in Nigeria.

Up to 2,000USD grants/scholarships to be awarded to winning/top entries;
Up to 2 representatives each of shortlisted teams/finalists will be offered complimentary registration to fully participate in NEF2023 technical, training, networking and capacity building sessions.
31 May 2023 – Stage 1: Submit Pitch Deck (with maximum 5 slides) to outline idea, problem statement, innovation potential, and impact;
23 June 2023 – Notification of shortlisted entries from Stage 1
18 July 2023 – Stage 2: Shortlisted entries invited to present a Poster to illustrate the concept, technical design, delivery plan, and cost/benefit analysis at NEF2023 Day 1 (hybrid event in Lagos);
18 August 2023 – Stage 3: Finalists invited to submit a 90 second video pitch to summarise innovation
23 November 2023 – TIEC Finals and awards ceremony at NEF2023 Day 2 (virtual).
