Polar Bear Pitching 2019 Competition

This call for entries is for the 2019 edition of the Polar Bear Pitching competition which gathers hundreds of participants from around the world to Oulu, an innovative city in Northern Finland. Unlike in all other pitching competitions, in Polar Bear Pitching there is no time limit. However, the entrepreneurs have to give their pitches while standing waist deep in ice cold water on a stage carved in the frozen Baltic Sea.

Media attention – Pitching from the inside of an ice hole will not only make great marketing material, no! The better your pitch the more media will get interested in you. Through the international livestream hubs and their global marketing efforts, they reach a huge community, to which you will get exposed when pitching from the ice hole.

Get funded – Every year they attract more international VC’s and investors, which closely watch the startups and have discussions afterwards. They like the uniqueness and the warm spirit of the event.

13th of March, 2019: In total 10 startups will take part in the Polar Bear Pitching Final

Note that while some organisers may accept applications from all around the world, you may still be required to travel to the host country in order to take part in the later stages of a competition for instance, or you may be required to live there for a period of time to take part in a funded programme (e.g. scholarship, incubator, accelerator).
