(Updated 5 Apr 2025) Academics or professionals are invited to apply for the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Programme (FVSP), also called the Fulbright African Research Scholar Programme (ARSP). The Programme is a research fellowship which awards grants to Nigerian academics or professionals to conduct advanced research at U.S. institutions.

Each successful applicant will be awarded a grant to conduct advanced research at U.S. institutions. Two categories of grants will be offered under The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Programme: Research Grants and Programme and Curriculum Development Grants.
The grant covers the following:
J-1 visa
Round trip airfare to the U.S
Settling-in allowance
Professional allowance
Monthly stipend
Housing allowance
Books-and-supplies allowance
Computer allowance
Basic university health insurance as a primary insurance coverage and the Fulbright ASPE health benefit as secondary coverage
Dependent allowance
Travel of one dependent if he/she will stay with the grantee for at least 80% of the grant period
