The Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition

(Updated 12 Apr 2026) Parents/Teachers/Guardians, the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition 2026 asks entrants to reflect on the bonds that unite people and communities throughout the Commonwealth, and to consider how cooperation, understanding, and partnership can drive positive change.

PRIZES

All entrants will receive a Certificate of Participation and a number of entrants will receive
Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards for excellence in writing.

The Winner and Runner-up from the Senior and Junior categories will be awarded with a trip to London for a week of educational and cultural events, culminating in a special Awards Ceremony at a royal palace.

HOST COUNTRY

United Kingdom

Note that while some organisers may accept applications from all around the world, you may still be required to travel to the host country in order to take part in the later stages of a competition for instance, or you may be required to live there for a period of time to take part in a funded programme (e.g. scholarship, incubator, accelerator).
