The Sociological Review Essay competition


The Sociological Review invites essays exploring the future of sociology in its relationships with other cognate disciplines such as anthropology and geography. Echoing The Sociological Review’s Manifesto, they seek to encourage reflections on ‘what could be thought differently, and how that creates possibilities for what could and should be done next’.

PRIZES

The prize for the winning essay will be £500.

An additional 10 essays will be published by The Sociological Review on its Website, Blog, and through a specially prepared zine distributed by the end of 2017.




Note that while some organisers may accept applications from all around the world, you may still be required to travel to the host country in order to take part in the later stages of a competition for instance, or you may be required to live there for a period of time to take part in a funded programme (e.g. scholarship, incubator, accelerator).

Multiple host countries may mean that no travel is required.
