Y Combinator Summer Batch Funding

(Updated 8 Feb 2023) Y Combinator (YC) provides seed funding for startups. This call is for applications for the Summer 2023 funding cycle.

PRIZES

$500,00 funding made on 2 separate safes:

$125,000 on a post-money safe in return for 7% of your company (the “$125k safe”)
$375,000 on an uncapped safe with a Most Favoured Nation (“MFN”) provision (the “MFN safe”)

The Summer 2022 batch of Y Combinator will be remote due to COVID-19. During this 3 month cycle,YC works intensively with you to get your company into the best possible shape and refine your pitch to investors. Every week a speaker will be invited to talk about their startup and what they learned.. Every week or two, you’ll have group office hours, where you’ll talk with 5-8 companies and your YC partners for an hour. These group office hours provide you with an opportunity to get to know companies in your batch that are going through similar things and to help each other.

After about 11 weeks, they will hold an event called Demo Day, when the startups present their companies to a carefully selected, invite-only audience.

YC and its alumni network (probably the most powerful network in the startup world) continue to help founders for the life of their company, and beyond.

You can still submit after the deadline – note that the later you apply, the harder it is to get in, and the exact date you’ll hear back from them with a decision is not guaranteed.

May 26, 2023: The latest day you’ll know whether you’ve been invited to talk to them (if you applied by the April 7 deadline).

June 7, 2023: The latest day you’ll know whether you’ve been invited to talk to them (if you applied after the April 7 deadline).

April - June 2023: Interviews will be held.

June - August 2023: Successful applicants will be expected to take part in the Summer 2022 batch.

HOST COUNTRY

United States

Note that while some organisers may accept applications from all around the world, you may still be required to travel to the host country in order to take part in the later stages of a competition for instance, or you may be required to live there for a period of time to take part in a funded programme (e.g. scholarship, incubator, accelerator).
