SPE Awards

(Updated 16 Oct 2025) The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Awards recognize members for their technical contributions, professional excellence, career achievement, service to colleagues, industry leadership, and public service. International awards recognize individuals who make significant technical and professional contributions to the petroleum engineering profession and to the worldwide oil and gas industry. Regional awards recognize members who contribute exceptional service and leadership within the SPE, as well as making significant professional contributions within their technical disciplines at the SPE regional level.

PRIZES

International award recipients are presented with a certificate, plaque, or medal commemorating their achievement. They receive complimentary registration for the Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE) and tickets to the Annual Awards Banquet at which the award will be presented in front of their professional peers.

Regional award recipients receive a trophy that is presented by the Regional Director at an appropriate regional meeting. The award categories are shown below:
