Challenge themselves with new questions and concepts

Explore the diverse communities of Washington, D.C., southwest Virginia and across the country
Inspire the next generation of women and girls in their home countries

Your U.S. programme begins with group international travel with your fellow participants from your country with a flight escort. Meeting all the other young women selected from across your region is the first inspiring element to the program.

The TechGirls staff provides 24-hour supervision and a safe and secure environment.

The TechGirls programme covers the following costs:

Visa Fee
Roundtrip international airfare from participant home country to the United States
Housing during programme
Double occupancy dormitory accommodations
Meals during programme
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
Local transportation to group programme events
Cultural events organised by Legacy International
Emergency health insurance


OTHER KEY DATES

July 8, 2023: Arrivals and Orientation in Washington, D.C.
July 9-22, 2023: Technology and leadership training at Virginia Tech , Blacksburg Virginia.
July 23-25, 2023: Community Immersion and Job Shadow experiences in one of the following cities (Austin, Chicago, Cincinnati, Denver, Detroit, and Seattle).
July 26-31, 2023: Washington D.C.- Visits to NASA, Capitol Hill and capstone events.
August 1, 2023: Departure from Washington, D.C.
August 2023 - January 2024: Development of an action plan for a community-based project.


HOST COUNTRY

United States


Note that while some organisers may accept applications from all around the world, you may still be required to travel to the host country in order to take part in the later stages of a competition for instance, or you may be required to live there for a period of time to take part in a funded programme (e.g. scholarship, incubator, accelerator).
