Parents/Guardians/Teachers, this call is for the 2021 edition of the Technovation Girls coding competition, a free technology-based programme for girls ages 10 - 18.
Working in teams (of 1 to 5), girls find a problem in their community and build a mobile app to help solve it. Along the way, they develop their collaboration, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

All participating teams will be awarded a certificate.
Judges will select 12 Finalist Teams from around the world.
These Finalists will be invited to pitch live online during Technovation's World Summit (a virtual event for 2021).
Each team member will receive a $500 USD educational stipend (unrestricted, to be used to further the individual’s learning at their own discretion).
At the Global World Summit event, judges will select 2 Grand Prize Winners for Technovation Girls – one from each division.
Technology and Social Impact special recognition will be given to teams in each division. One finalist or regional winner team will be selected in the People’s Choice award as well.
10 Regional Winners will be selected: There will be a Senior and Junior Division Winners for each of these 5 regions: Africa, Asia & Oceania, Europe, North America, and Latin America.
Technovation will give two additional special awards that are open to all teams that submit an app (teams do not need to be regional winners or finalists to qualify for these two prizes)
One award will recognize a team tackling Climate Change and another special award will recognize a team that uses artificial intelligence in their app.
January 11, 2021: Official Start of Season
March 12, 2021: Last Day to Register as a student or mentor (All members of your team must have registered and joined your team).
March 29, 2021: Judge registration opens for volunteers who'd like to help provide feedback to teams
April 19, 2021: Competition Submission Deadline.
April 22 - May 5, 2021: Round 1 Online Judging. Note: due to COVID-19, all official judging must happen online.
June 2, 2021: Semifinalists announced via email.
June 2 - June 16, 2021: Round 2 Semifinal Online Judging.
Late June/Early July 2021: Competition results released recognizing 12 finalists teams and 10 Regional Winners.
August 2021: Technovation World Summit - celebration of the hard work of teams across the world!
