TechWomen 2019

TechWomen empowers, connects and supports the next generation of women leaders in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) from Africa, Central and South Asia, and the Middle East by providing them the access and opportunity needed to advance their careers, pursue their dreams, and inspire women and girls in their communities.

PRIZES

108 Emerging Leaders will receive a four-week professional mentorship at a company, organization, or institution in the San Francisco Bay Area or Silicon Valley, USA. During the mentorship, strong bonds that inspire a rich exchange of ideas and expertise shall be formed.

Prior to arriving in the United States, each Emerging Leader and her Professional Mentor will design a collaborative project based on the Emerging Leader’s professional goals. Four days per week, for four weeks, the Emerging Leader and Mentor will work together on the project at the Mentor’s company. Projects vary depending on each Emerging Leader’s areas of expertise (such as for example Biotechnology, Green/clean technology, Information technology, Internet, Science or Telecommunications), interests, as well as on the needs of the host company.

International travel, housing, meals and incidentals, local transportation and transportation to official TechWomen events will be covered by the TechWomen programme. Participants will be housed in San Francisco or Mountain View, California, depending on the location of the participant’s host company.

The programme will conclude in Washington, D.C. with several days of meetings and special events.

May 17 2019: Final selection decisions will have been made by this date.
September - October 2019: U.S. TechWomen programme


HOST COUNTRY

United States


Note that while some organisers may accept applications from all around the world, you may still be required to travel to the host country in order to take part in the later stages of a competition for instance, or you may be required to live there for a period of time to take part in a funded programme (e.g. scholarship, incubator, accelerator).
